Summer travel season is here!

Bags packed and ready to go? Whether you're hopping on a quick flight or heading out on a long road trip, extended periods of sitting can take a toll on your spine.

Your spine thrives on movement. In fact, the discs in your back rely on regular movement and motion to stay healthy. Because spinal discs don’t have a strong direct blood supply, movement helps them exchange nutrients and remove waste products & keeping everything functioning the way it should.

Before you head off on your fun-filled adventure, stop by the office so we can make sure your spine is moving and functioning at its best!

And don’t forget to schedule a visit when you get back too 😉 Your spine will thank you after all those hours in the car or plane.

Summer Hydration & Disc Health

We all know drinking water is important during the hot summer months… but did you know your spine depends on it too?

When you become dehydrated,  especially during summer heat, travel, workouts, pool days, or time outdoors — those discs can become less hydrated too. This may leave you feeling more stiff, achy, tight, or fatigued than usual.

One of the best things you can do for your spine this summer is surprisingly simple:

➡ Drink more water.

➡ Keep moving.

➡ Don’t ignore tension or stiffness.

Food for Thought

“Sometimes, when things seem to be falling apart, they may actually be falling into place.”

A year ago, it felt like several areas of my life were unraveling at once. At the time, it was confusing and uncomfortable like nothing was going the way it was supposed to. But with time and reflection, I started to see something different: those moments weren’t setbacks, they were redirections.

Looking back, I can see I wasn’t where I was meant to be. What felt like everything falling apart was actually life gently (and sometimes not so gently) steering me back toward a more aligned path.

I share this because so often we try to avoid discomfort or rush past it,  sometimes the only way through something is to actually go through it. Not around it, not over it — through it.

If you’re in a season right now that feels heavy, uncertain, or confusing, you’re not alone. Instead of immediately pushing it away, it may be worth asking:

• What is this season trying to show me?

• Is this still the right path for me?

• Or is something shifting that I need to pay attention to?

Not everything that feels like an ending is one. Sometimes it’s just the beginning in disguise.
