PATIENT STORY TIME

A few months ago, I had a new patient come in for low back pain that had completely changed her lifestyle. She had stopped working out, wasn't enjoying nights out with friends, and felt like she couldn't do the things that once filled her cup due to the discomfort and pain she was in.

When she told me, "I haven't really been able to do much that fills my cup anymore," my heart sank. I reminded her that this isn't how life is supposed to feel, and that there was absolutely room for change.

After a few visits & lifestyle modifications, her pain improved from a 9/10 to a 3/10, but more importantly, she started getting her life back.

Today, she comes in for wellness care to keep her body functioning at its best so she can enjoy the gym, long walks, and time with friends without pain holding her back.

I share this because so many people accept pain as their "normal", but it doesn't have to be. If discomfort is keeping you from doing the things you love, know that there is hope and you deserve to live a life that truly fills your cup.

Food for Thought

"Make Space for Magic."

A close friend shared these four simple words with me a few weeks ago while I was asking for a perspective shift in an area of my life. My first response was, "What do you even mean?"

She explained that if I continue trying to fill every second of my day, plan every detail, and control every outcome, I leave very little room for the unexpected blessings that are meant to find me. Sometimes, the "magic" in life, the opportunities, relationships, moments of peace, answered prayers, or open doors, can't show up because we're so busy forcing our own timeline.

That conversation stopped me in my tracks.

It reminded me that not everything is mine to control. While discipline, hard work, and intention are important, so is learning to pause, to trust, to breathe, to let go of the need to have every answer.

Sometimes the most beautiful things happen in the space we didn't plan for.

So this is your reminder (and mine): leave a little white space in your calendar. Take the slower walk. Say yes to the coffee date. Put your phone down. Spend a few quiet moments in prayer or reflection. Trust that not every minute has to be productive to be meaningful.

Because when we stop trying to control everything, we often make room for exactly what we needed all along.
